A hint of almond paired with tart cherries is the perfect complement to these chocolate chip cookies.

Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups | All-purpose flour (321g) | |
1 tsp. | Baking soda | |
1 tsp. | Salt | |
3/4 cup | Sugar (147g) | |
3/4 cup | Brown sugar (171g) | |
1/2 cup | Butter, room tempeture | |
1/2 cup | Shortening (98g) | |
2 ea. | Eggs | |
2 tsp. | Almond extract | |
1 1/2 cups | Chocolate chips (304g) | |
1 cup | Cherries (dried, sweetened) (134g) | |
1 cup | Almonds |
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
With paddle attachment on the mixer, beat together sugar, brown sugar, shortening and butter on medium speed until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time till combined.
Add almond extract.
With the mixer on low speed, add in flour, baking soda and salt, mix till combined.
Add chocolate chips, cherries and almonds, mix till combined.
Using a cookie scoop place cookie dough on parchment lined cookie sheet.
Bake for 12 minutes.
When done let sit on cookie sheet for about 3 minutes then move to cooling rack.
